Electric road II - a detailed plan is developed
The Swedish Transport Administration grants Phase 2 of Elvägen — and grants the project 1 million in grants to develop a more detailed plan. Elvägen is a project in Lund where it is intended that electric vehicles will be charged on the fly via rails on the roadway. Now the project is one step closer to being realized.
Swedish Transport Administration He therefore believed in the proposal to charge electric vehicles on the fly through an electric road and therefore wanted to see an implementation plan, which would be ready in February 2019. From the beginning, the Swedish Transport Administration received four proposals, and three of them went on to phase 2. In February, it will be decided which two projects will receive the Swedish Transport Agency's support for implementation.
Project application is based on lundabolaget Elonroads Simply put, the idea is to provide charging rails on the roadway so that electric vehicles can charge their batteries both when they are driving and when they are stationary. Rails in the roadway allow any electric vehicle of any size to connect to the system via a stripper. The short charging points supplied by Elonroad are only charged under the vehicle, which provides increased safety when charging in urban traffic.
Per Löfberg from Future by Lund has been the project manager for the application together with Elonroad, Lund Municipality, Lund University, VTI, Innovation Skåne, The power ring, LTH, Skånetrafiken, Solaris Bus and Ramboll.
Further work will take place in a consortium led by Innovation Skåne.
