INTERWeuVen - reduced textile waste through on-demand manufacturing

This autumn, the new project INTERWeuVEN is launching, an EU project with 16 partners across Europe. Future by Lund and its member whatt.io will, among other things, contribute to the integration of DPPs (Digital Product Passports) into design and manufacturing processes, as well as establishing a Nordic circular textile network.

We are proud to announce that Future by Lund is one of 16 partners in INTERWeuVEN, a new Horizon EU project exploring on-demand textile and garment fabrication systems. Led by TU Delft | Industrial Design Engineering, the project will develop the design methods, tools and business models needed to make local-for-local, zero-waste woven garment production viable at microfactory scale across Europe.

At Future by Lund, we are excited to contribute with our experience in ecosystem innovation, circular transformation and test & demo sites. Our role is to help connect emerging textile technologies with real-world value chains, business model innovation and together with our member whatt.io explore the opportunities created by Digital Product Passports. For us, INTERWeuVEN is an important step towards showing how data, design and local manufacturing can work together to strengthen competitiveness, reduce waste and accelerate the transition to a more circular textile system.

We look forward to working with TU Delft and all consortium partners across Europe and Canada to explore how future textile production can become more sustainable, distributed and resilient.
