The towns are:
Stage 1: Enköping, Järfälla, Gothenburg, Lund, Malmö, Stockholm, Umeå, Uppsala, Växjö

Further work in Lund:
In Phase 2 of the project, the Municipality of Lund will continue to Accelerate Lund's climate work. The focus is on working with visualisation, circular economy, mobility and sustainable energy.
Part of the work is to continue the development of Futureproofed, a tool where it is possible to follow Lund's climate work and where it is possible to see what activities are going on in the city.
For the school's part, the Nature Conservation Society and Lund University present their climate concept “Beyond the fossil society” in light Swedish.
Together with the construction industry, the municipality of Lund will work on circularity in the district of Västerbro in northwestern Lund. By developing Circle Centre Lund, the idea is that citizens should also be able to borrow instead of buying new goods.
Klostergården becomes a focus area when Lund Municipality, together with LKF and Trivector, develop and test methods for increased collaboration, dialogue and involvement in issues related to sustainable mobility and increased security in existing residential areas.
In the area of sustainable energy, opportunities for more local energy production will be explored. How can the city's roof be used for solar cells and what potential exists for storing wind energy through hydrogen gas in Stångby?
Climate-neutral cities — Viable cities
Phase 2 will run for three years, until Sep 30, 2024.
It is Sweden's largest investment to date in climate-neutral and sustainable cities. The total budget for all cities is over SEK 200 million.
Climate Contract 2030 is a collection of forces to accelerate development to reach climate-neutral cities. It is a mutual agreement between the 2030 cities, five authorities and Viable Cities, in which all parties commit to making a concrete contribution to accelerating the pace of climate change.
The first version of the 2030 Climate Contract was signed in 2020 by nine Swedish cities, four authorities and Viable Cities. Lund is one of the cities that have signed the contract.
