Now a brand new Lundahoj station is opening at Tetra Pak with space for 38 borrowed bikes. The station is special, as this is the first in Lund to be built on private land. The idea has come from the project CoAction Lund with the intention of creating a more extensive network of stations with borrowed bicycles in the city. Now there is hope that more companies want to participate.

Lundhi is a bicycle system powered by JCDecaux and Lund Municipality to make it possible for everyone to borrow a bicycle in certain places in Lund. Those using the service purchase a membership and can then cycle up to 30 minutes for free before returning the bike at a Lundahoj station. So far there have been seventeen stations — and in early October it was time to inaugurate the eighteenth, which will be the first in southern Lund.

The new station is located along Ruben Rausings street so that it will be easily accessible to both Tetra Paks employees and others. Just inside the hedge, JC Decaux has landscaped a station with 38 bike spaces. Tetra Pak is leasing the land and has ensured that there is electricity for the plant.

- Now we are giving employees an opportunity to try to become members of Lundahoj, says Anna Stålnacke, operations manager for occupational health care at Tetra Pak. We see it as a first- and lastmile solution that, for example, makes it easy for bus and train commuters to get to work or for those who need a bike to get to town. Now we hope that more companies will want to participate so that we can help establish a more extensive cycling network.

Lundahoj thus now has eighteen stations in Lund and eight more stations are planned shortly.

- It is amazing to see how Lundahoj has become such a valued part of the everyday life of the Lund residents. To make the system even better, cooperation with business is crucial. By now also being able to place stations on private land, we can create a denser network that makes it easier for even more people to travel sustainably, regardless of where in the city one lives or works,” says Sofia Ståhle, Lundahoj.

Anna Stålnacke herself then — will there be more cycling to work now?

- I already commute by bike to work, but this has made me look forward to the possibility of continuing by bike when you take the train to town in the evenings and weekends. Bike feels flexible and I will definitely download the app!

Tetra Pak's sustainable commitment to commuting

In the large collaborative project CoAction Lund, many actors work together to create a more sustainable Lund, for example by encouraging climate-friendly commuting. Tetra Pak has adopted Project CoAction's goal that no more than a third of its employees should take the car to work. Here are some of Tetra Pak's initiatives for more people to cycle or ride public transport to work:

*Employees can borrow electric bike for free for two weeks to test commuting that way.

*There are frequent occasions with free bicycle service at work.

*Employees can attend recurring events that encourage sustainable commuting.

*There is the possibility of preferential purchase of a bicycle against payroll deduction.

*To investigate how cycling affects health, some employees had to test using an electric bike for six weeks. Cycling three days a week provided many with increased sleep quality, better perceived health and, in some cases, reduced blood pressure and stomach circumference.

*Tetra Pak has borrowed bicycles that can be used during the working day and to and from the train stations.

*There have been campaigns where people have had the opportunity to try public commuting for free for a few weeks.

* Employees are given discounts on Skånetrafiken's annual card.

*A group for carpooling has been started.

* At the exit, screens have been installed to provide information about the next bus.
